History
A family tradition, a story of hospitality
Some places evoke the scent of cherished memories. They are places where hospitality is more than a profession; it is a legacy. The story of the Galligani family and the Grand Hotel Panoramic began many years ago with Grandfather Gino.
From Pensione Giglio to Palazzo BelVedere: the origins
Gino, driven by his entrepreneurial spirit, purchased Pensione Giglio, which eventually expanded into Hotel Giglio. Next came the Belvedere, a vacant plot of land that, thanks to his vision, was transformed into one of Montecatini's most beautiful hotels. Together with his son Simone, that dream continued to grow, culminating in the refined Palazzo BelVedere, now a five-star hotel.
The Grand Hotel Panoramic era begins
In the 1980s, our family purchased the Grand Hotel Panoramic. Back then, its basement was the beating heart of Montecatini’s nightlife with the famous “W” nightclub, while the upper floors welcomed travellers and sales representatives in simple yet always inviting single rooms.
A new generation takes the lead
Today, Cristina, Sergio, and their daughters, Chiara and Elisa, run the hotel with the same passion as those who came before them. Under their management, the Grand Hotel Panoramic has evolved while staying true to its roots. Spaces have been renovated, and the natural environment has been enhanced: the winter garden and the bamboo grove beside the veranda have been created.
A hotel, a home, a family
The true essence of the Grand Hotel Panoramic, however, lives in its affections. Within these walls, Bernardo, Bianca, Alice, and Ottavia grew up. They played in the corridors, blew out birthday candles year after year, and welcomed friends on festive days. Their faces live on in the photographs on the piano and in the stories of our longtime guests who watched them grow.
Because the Grand Hotel Panoramic is home. Ours. And, we hope, a little bit yours too.
